Our puppies are always raised in our
house.
The first two weeks the puppies are blind and deaf, the only things they
do is drinking by their mother and sleeping. Mother and children
are in a whelping box then.
We are weighing all the puppies twice a day the
first 3 weeks, to see if they are all growing well. With two weeks they
are dewormed for the first time, after that they will be dewormed with
4, 6 and 8 weeks.
When the eyes are open in the 3th week, they are
starting to look like real dogs! Also the ears are open now. They will
try to walk now, very funny...
In the 4th week they can walk quite well, so we
take them out the welping box to get them more space to walk. They will
also start playing now. Now it's the time to give them puppy porridge.
In the beginning they are very dirty after their dinner, but soon
enough
they know how to eat properly.
In the 5th week the whelping box is always open
and they can walk in the puppy room. We are using papers at the ground.
They sleep at vet/dry beds. They are really playing now, and we
will
gte them used to strange noises, like the vacuum cleaner and the
radio.
They also enjpy all the visitors who come to watch and play with them!
With 6 weeks it's time for the puppy vaccination
and when the weather is not o bad they will go sometimes outside. They
have almost all their teeths now, so they can eat dry food and all kind
of candies. They will play also with our older dogs now, and of course
with children, to get them socialised!
We will groom the puppies a little bit with a
brush, to get them used to it. We are cutting the nails and the
hairs
between the feet soles almost every week now.
The puppies will be chipped by the
Kennelclub
between the age of 6 and 9 weeks. Now they all have their own
indentification
number. When they are 8 weeks old, it's time to go to their new family!
